Karnaphuli Group is a business conglomerate thatowns BhorerKagoj, Diner Sheshey, and Desh TV. The Group of companies was established in 1954. The Group provides port shipping and logistics, media and publishing, securities trading, health care, real estate, retail and general insurance and financial services. Awami League lawmaker Saber Hossain Chowdhury is currently the managing director of the Group.

Karnaphuli group has a major stake in the shipping business in Bangladesh. In 2019, it handled approximately 35% of Bangladesh’s total container.
Karnaphuli Group is associated with various international brands such as Renault, Mahindra, Honda, Skechers Aurelia, Swaraj, Hoyer and Balaji and provides services as their local distributor.
Karnaphuli Group is owned by Saber Hossain Chowdhury MP and his family members. Saber Hossain Chowdhury holds the top position as the managing director of the Group, while his son Hamdan Hossain Chowdhury and his daughter Raimah Chowdhury are currently group directors.
Raimah Chowdhury is the founder of Bangladesh-China Foundation for Future, a youth based platform for students, young adults and working professionals which works for promoting connectivity and exchange between the two countries. Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh recognizes and assists this forum. She is also the founding president of the Bangladesh chapter of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA).
